On May 28, VAMA & GONVVAMA Innovative Steel Technology Day was successfully held at Xpeng Technology Park. Management and technical experts from Xpeng Motors gathered at the event, covering material technology, body R&D, power battery, stamping, procurement and other fields, conducting in-depth discussions on topics including innovative application of advanced high-strength steel, integrated optimization of multi-body parts, and pure electric vehicle solutions.

Building on the in-depth project implementation across multiple flagship Xpeng models, both parties have established an efficient supply cooperation mechanism. "VAMA will continuously iterate our new generation of ultra-high-strength steel products and solutions, empowering mobility technology upgrading through material innovation, and working hand in hand with Xpeng to achieve our shared vision of 'driving future mobility with innovation and creating a convenient and pleasant travel experience'," said Zhou Jian, General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of VAMA.

At the Technology Day, Xpeng together with VAMA & GONVVAMA globally premiered the high-toughness third-generation aluminized hot-stamping part Ductibor® 1500AS. While the industry still focuses on single strength indicators, Ductibor® 1500 truly achieves a full-dimensional upgrade of both high strength and high toughness, perfectly balancing the core requirements of vehicle safety performance, lightweighting and cost optimization. The shared pursuit of ultimate safety and lightweighting has enabled this innovative material to rapidly move from R&D to mass production, becoming a hot topic at the event.

"Intelligence without a safe body carrier is merely a castle in the air. Xpeng always adheres to the manufacturing philosophy that 'absolute safety is the prerequisite for intelligence', and creates high-strength bodies meeting China-EU five-star safety standards through the application of advanced high-strength steel and integrated structural design," said Yu Peng, Vice President of Xpeng Motors Technology Center. He looked forward to taking this Technology Day as a new strategic starting point, collaborating with VAMA and GONVVAMA to focus on three major directions: iteration of high-performance advanced high-strength steel materials, process optimization, and low-carbon green vehicle manufacturing. Leveraging ArcelorMittal's global technological advantages, this partnership will support the continuous upgrading of Xpeng's global, green and high-end product matrix.

Through a comprehensive showcase of the full range of advanced high-strength steel products, Simplify™ multi-part integration solutions, pure electric vehicle solutions and innovative steel battery pack technologies, as well as in-depth discussions on topics including mass production feasibility, lightweighting potential and multi-part integration of the new generation advanced high-strength steel, the event deeply empowered the R&D and mass production of Xpeng's next-generation flagship models, vividly interpreting the win-win cooperation of "Dear Xpeng Friends, Great to Meet You, Steel Perfect".

Technology exploration knows no bounds, and innovation iteration never stops. Looking ahead, both parties will anchor on the trends of intelligent mobility and green globalization, continue to deepen technological co-creation, focus on the core needs of electric vehicle body safety and lightweighting, promote the mass production implementation of next-generation body technology, and jointly open a new future of intelligent and green mobility.
